| Changes at PPP |
[Feb. 22nd, 2007|09:13 pm] |
Another reason why I have not been blogging as much recently is because of the new way that Pay Per Post has been set up. They are now offering a lot more segmentation, which awards bloggers that have high traffic blogs, which helps Pay Per Post grow their blog ad network. Unfortunately for me, my blog is *not* a high traffic blog, which means that I do not get as many opportunities as I used to get. Oh well...I never really intended for this to be a high traffic blog anyway. But if you have a good Google Page Rank and want some money, check this site out--there are lots of high paying blog opportunities available if your blog gets lots of hits. And Pay Per Post only charges a 35% service fee, as opposed to some other sites that charge a 100% markup. I am not sure exactly what that means, except that I can keep more of the money I make with Pay Per Post than I could with some other sites. Disclosure is also required from all bloggers...mine is at the bottom of this post. I like the idea of disclosure, it creates more transparency, which is all for the good. I’m just not sure, overall, how all of these changes will shake out. Time will tell.

I haven't been posting regularly lately. But things have been busy, and I haven't had much time for posting much. Mardi Gras 2007 is now over and the city is getting back to normal (at least as normal as we can GET down here!) and life is going OK. I'm still enjoying my classes and work. More later.... |

| Everything Is A Theory... |
[Feb. 7th, 2007|12:02 pm] |
at least that is what I am getting from my classes and readings. Your outlook on life will depend on what sort of theories you hold and which ones you reject. Worldviews are theories too, just writ large. And now, there is a new Theory of Everything coming out of the scientific world. This website aims to "do to science and discovery what Microsoft's Windows OS did to computing"--make science and discovery available to the common person. This really does not have much to do with some of the more "traditional" scientific theories, even though at first glance, it does sound kind of like the "Grand Unified Theory" which is supposed to explain everything. This theory actually deals with everthing, whereas the GUT applies mainly to physics (at least that's what I've heard!) So if you are interested in taking science out of the hands of the scientists and researchers, at least partially, then go check this site out--it does sound interesting, doesn't it?

why can't the sun ever SHINE here? This constant cloudiness is really starting to get to me! And my ticket information is not up yet on the city website so I can't pay online yet. I really DON"T want to have to go somewhere to pay in person--I'm too scared of the lineups! :( |

| Football... |
[Feb. 2nd, 2007|12:04 pm] |
is one thing that has really brought New Orleans together in the past 8 months or so--it helps to have a winning team! And the members of that team needed to have started playing somewhere. If you are interested having your child play youth football, I would recommend the Winning Youth Football DVD, which helps your child learn football properly and to avoid injuries, which can be severe. So go check it out and catch the Football Fever.

| It's FRIDAY |
[Feb. 2nd, 2007|12:01 pm] |
|
which is great. I get to sleep in tomorrow! But I am going to be busy, between getting my normal weekend chores done as well as going to Rosanne's birthday party, and maybe to Mom and David's for dinner. And I didn't TOTALLY oversleep today--I forgot to turn the alarm on last night but luckily I woke up in time to get to work not terribly late. |

| Business promotion |
[Jan. 31st, 2007|12:53 pm] |
|
is something that everybody who is involved in commercial life should know about. There is a website out there that will help you and your business grow your lead management and be your website analytics software provider. When you sign up, you get a free trial of ALL of their features (which is kind of unusual--a lot of sites that I have seen will only give you limited features during your trial) and, no matter which plan you choose, you will receive all of the features. The price will depend on your overall usage, which sounds very fair to me! This company also pridesm themselves on customer service and business consultation. So if you want to grow your business, check out AIMPromote and see if they can help you! |

It's amazing how COLD it can feel when the wind picks up and it gets and stays damp. Even though it's about 45 out and it feels like 39, it still feels a LOT colder than that! I was getting used to the warmer weather! |
